What is Zorg Info Films?

FAQ

Trailer

ZIF (Zorg Info Films) was created to provide quality explanation and information about healthcare and health information clips and films through translation or initiate and continue such clips or films.

ZIF is focused on and committed to the various (multi-) cultural groups in the Netherlands without excluding the local and the genius.

Why?

For large groups of people access to such information films has since 2009 completely been stopped and/or blocked.

Especially in the 1st and 2nd generation immigrants include many illiterates (estimated that 1/2 million, from whom 75% women, source NRC), who will never learn to speak Dutch, let alone read and understand it.

But for many, that do understand the Dutch language, it remains a second language, and the nuances will be lost on them. Once one has to deal with health issues, a good understanding is very much important.

The demand for health educational films is still there, but because of the lack of financial support, these needs just lie on the desks of health and care organizations and interest groups.

Doctors, foundations, institutions and funds in the various healthcare disciplines are increasingly expressing their need to have the above to reach these communities, so prevention, care and explanation can insure better and higher results. These types of films enhance the understanding of and to each other even better and more efficient, and the gap between the different language groups decreases thus very much.

After careful and intensive inventory of these new social, economic and political situations in the Netherlands, the founders and the voluntarily assisting persons and institutions of ZIF reached the following conclusions:

1. The diverse multicultural and non-native communities would actually want to take responsibility themselves to care for the financing of these in their own language made and/or translated into care, health and information films (henceforth called ZIF-films).

2. A good way to get this done would be if these multicultural and non-native communities “each” through a broad national support financially care for their own ZIF films.

3. “Crowd Funding” is the best way to make this possible for each of these communities in their own “language”.

What is “Crowd Funding” and how does it work? Through a simple example we will explain what that is.

Say there is a trailer of topic “X” that needs to be translated (always with subtitles and voice-over) or should be newly created in various languages. To achieve this ZIF needs (depending on the language) an amount of € 10.000, – for each language.

On the website pages in each language one can watch a trailer with an explanation in that language. Each language group / community can contribute an amount to the project in their own language from € 5.00 and up, to ensure that the required information film in that language can be realized. (See FAQ in regard to compensation of any contribution may be).

The language / community that reaches the full amount within the predetermined period (usually 3 months), is then made.

However, if the full amount within the period is “NOT” brought in, the film unfortunately will not be made, and those who already have contributed money, can choose to put it on another project or get their money back

This system provides all communities / languages groups thru their own “contributions” in their own needs for healthcare and information films.

Of course, the various communities can and may support each other in the realization of making healthcare and information films in their own languages, and we welcome that very much.

With each ZIF film, a group of supervisors is appointed consisting off various specialists and renowned persons from these communities, from hospitals, healthcare foundations, institutions and funds affiliated to the subject.

General support, guidance and assistance is provided by Cliëntenbelang Amsterdam.

Finally, we thank all those who with their time, support and frequent inspiration and thinking helped to realize Zorg Info Films. Their commitment and passion have brought us to where we are now, and now we hope all to go forward together!
